Ear tubes

Went to the pediatrician with Max and he has yet another ear infection. It seems that every time he gets a cold it is unable to clear up on its own and turns into an infection. As such, we need to see a specialist and have tubes put in. I've heard it is a relatively minor procedure and although Max will need to be under, it only takes a few minutes. I'm still quite nervous and would love to hear if any of you have been through this.
